Happy Almost Spring!

In some parts of the country, the temperature is simply balmy.  In others, cold, wet, sleet and rain.  Almost.  We're almost there.  When we can take off our boots, our coats and scarves and don light, airy and fun clothing? 

With the warm weather also comes flowers and trees budding.  Cocooning will slowly come to an end and we'll make our way outdoors for picnics, BBQ's, baseball, walking and other sports.  Of course we prefer the calmer sports - walking and swimming.  Somehow we feel safer.

Hello from the month of January!

You know the dog days of July?  Well ladies, we are in the dog days of January.  Cold, damp, snowy, rainy, still two months from spring.  But fear not!  We have remedies for these days.  Let's start with cooking. 

Who doesn't like to make a good, thick soup with pasta or rice on a winter's night?  Served with hot french bread, a salad, and a glass of wine in front of a cozy fireplace.  End the meal with a delicious warm apple crisp and a dollop of whipped cream.  Yum!
